2008 m 1000

Please talk to me about the pros/ cons, *****es, concerns complaints, plus and minus of this sled. What has to be done to make it ride right, weight compaired to the M8, is the power a noticable differnce ect. Pleasae one good conversation about this. Do they feel better than first gen M7 *which I sold to go back to a 03 800 RMK. Just have a opportunity to pick one up at auction.

Steve, there are tons of threads on this if you are willing to do a search. Just look on the first 2-3 pages here and you will find what you need.

M1000

It all depends on how much you can get it for and the condition it's in.

The M1000 is a Great sled. Only catch is you'll need a boondocker, if it doesn't already have one if you want to do any mods such as pipe, y-pipe. Personally I would clutch it and put a light weight can (the stock can is a tank!!) on it and ride. Other choice is to spend twice as much and buy a 2010 M8 HCR, same power and a few pounds lighter. On the flip side I have a riding buddy with a M1000 with twin pipes and NOS, WOW! Now thats a ride.

Steve,

I bought a leftover 08 M1000 Sno Pro last fall. I was going to go with an 800, but rode an 07 1000 (on grass yet) and couldn't believe the torque of the 1000. The difference in torque makes the 1000 an awesome sled. I put an MBRP can on, which is 13lbs lighter than stock, and it's pretty much the same weight as an M8 now. Since mine is a sno pro I simply adjusted the pressure in the shocks, but you probably should adjust the springs to your liking. These sleds ride and handle great. I also have a larger snorkel on the airbox, and it's crisp and clean and reliable. I have no complaints with mine as of yet.

I also have an m1000 with some light weight parts lake a can and an airbox mine is a timbersleds you loose a bunch of weight without spending a ton of money. Clutch temps are a problem so some vent panels and a torsional conversion help.I did a Bikeman pipe, can, head, boondocker, and reads and it was Fricken awesome to ride. but of course I did not stop there and thats when things went down hill
