2008 700 What Can and Pipe setup?

I just bought my girlfriend a 2008 700 RMK and I am looking to cut as much wieght as possible (She switched from a M7) so we need to drop some weight. I am new to Polaris so I was wondering what can and pipe everyone reccomends to cut weight and incrdease power.

Any other ideas on cutting weight for pretty cheap would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I ran a SLP pipe with a HPS can. Worked great, alot of people say that the single pipe is not worth the money, but it is. Clutch it to 8400rpm, drop the gears to a 19/42 and vent the heck out of it. Most people expect too much out of a single pipe. I guess the Power Commander III is supposed to be good also. I think Aaen makes a single pipe, never tried it though. Most of my riding is at 1000ft-4000ft, I feel sorry for the people that ride at higher elevations.

I have a 2007 D7, did the PC III, best bang for the buck.

PC-5 w/AUTOTUNE is the way to go today. Bought mine from DYNOTECH JIM www.dynotechresearch.com

If you opt tp go with the PC-5 and no autotune he has the correct mapping for the 700's.

Please see my TECH TIPS THREAD for 600/700/800 CFI's in the "INCREASING YOUR IQ" at the top of the IQ forum.

XC8 (on H.C.S.) has a 2008 D7, bought the SLP pipe, ended up selling the pipe and keeping the PC III.

Hope this helps.

I've been running the SLP pipe & can on my 07 D7 since 07...runs great. The HPS can is ran by a ton of guys on this engine too. The SLP is quieter, just a lower growl, the HPS is louder and snappier sounding. Either way you will be dropping some weight.

Good luck with the new sled!

Hey guys,
SLP pipe and can here, bought the pipe and can at the Puyallup snow/swap show for 200.00 like new. and take all that damn insulation out of engine compartment, it's just to make it quieter but it holds all the heat in. just put some heat tape on the under side of the hood above the pipe.

i heard the stock pipe is very well tuned, and not to waist money on a single but to get a can for lightweight and get a pc-4, pc-5 or whatever......

dynoport

I ran a dynoport single pipe on an 07 700. Ran good when it ran but I had problems coding out the ex temp probe. I don't think many people have tried the dynoport pipe.

Its pretty hard to beat an SLP setup. I have always ran SLP and have had good luck with them. They've been in the game for along time. I'm not sure the pipe really added that much power (noticed a little) on my Dragon but I sure could feel the weight difference. Fit and finish was pretty good and easy to install. The only issue I had when installing the Pipe/can/ y pipe was the pipe not being 100% straight on the y pipe connection. It is about 10* to the chaincase side. Doesn't leak though so I'm not too worried about it.
