2008 700 rmk underhood cooling

I just bought a 2008 Polaris RMK 700. I have heard that the only issues to worry about is the chaincase cover getting hot and engine compartment temps in general. Who does everybody recommend for vents to correct the problem?

Fire n Ice
SLP
XXX Mod Rods

There are lots of good choices. I went with the Billet chain case cover from Avid, problem solved. I do park a little heat next to the cover as well. Good luck. EW

thanks for the info

Thanks for the ideas. The chaincase cover looks like a great idea, I will look into that. The turbo I bet is alot of fun, not sure I can spend that much yet.

Your just lookin at it wrong, you can't afford not to boost. Everyone is saying live each day like its your last.....well wouldn't you want to spend your last day boosted?

Look at all the pain and medical bills you can save by not being stuck on the hill anymore and tearing your back up to get out. Think how much quicker you can get home to your loving wife and fulfilling job when your pinned on boost back to the lot.

With boost I have avoided mid-life crisis, which would have otherwise caused me to get a cheerleader and a Corvette which in turn would have cost me more than half of everything and a nasty divorce.

Ya see when put in proper perspective, you cant afford not to be boosted. Now pick up the phone and get one coming before you think yourself out of it. lol. EW

Now I'm going to feel totally inadequate and incomplete til I get one.
Damn you and your perfect sledder logic.:beer;:D

Remove all underhood foam, silver tape hood(ac/heat tape).

I did Fire n Ice shock vents on my 08 D-7 and Carl's Cycle knee panel vents.
On the wife's 07 we put Carl's shock tower vent's(the one's for the 900) and the Carl's knee panel vent's.
Depending on where you live, you can get free shipping and no tax from Carl's if you order online from them.

I like your way of thinking EricW. I would love to ride a sled once with a turbo on it. They are impressive to watch. I think I am going to invest in some vents, not sure which ones yet. The Avid chaincase cover looks cool, that will be on the list after that. I am just waiting for snow so that I can get my first ride in. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.......

i run my 700 stocker than stock................never had the chain case warp yet in two years. im putting vents on it though. im getting the mountain fit hoods lower side vents in black with the plastic frame. and the stirrup vents in aluminum with white mesh. i dont loose my decals and it still will look fairly stock. i think all 4 vents with shipping should run under $100.
