I have a 2008 RMK 700 153 and need to put a bar riser on for my 6-5 son-in law
What is the tallest riser I can put on without extending the cables
Any brand preference would be appreciated

I have the same sled and just put a 6.5" powermadd riser on from slp and it was pretty tight all i did was reroute the brake line a lil bit and it was just enough. But if you pulled the airbox and rerouted the wires and bought a longer brake line then you could probably go a bit taller maybe get close to 8 but no promises!
Goodluck

I put a set of 6" Fly Racing billet risers on my 08 600. Everything fit but the brake cable is pretty tight when the bars are turned all the way left. Also, wires are routed through the stock riser. It's best to disconnect them under the hood rather than at the bars if possible. I found that out the hard way:face-icon-small-fro
I'm 6'3" and that's about perfect height for me. Very happy with the Fly risers too.

I am 6'3" also..I run a 8in riser. I had to re route the brake line..had to cut some tywraps on the harness also. Re route your brake line and cut the tywraps on the wiring harness...then lift the bars and see what you have to work with as far as height goes.

A 7 should work fine and an 8 might work but check first. Anything higher will need some help I am afraid. I have heard of some going with a 9 but I dont know that first hand...only rumors. At 6'5" thats way up in the air..nothing worse than being leaned over the top..especially going down hill and having to hit the brakes fast. I used my wifes with her three in riser and it wasnt pretty a few times. Being comfortable and having the correct riding posture can make a big difference in his confidence and riding ability.

Good Luck.

8" on mine too, the break line was a little snug though the hoop by the steering column but I didn't have to extend this, had to re-rout the warmer cable for the right side outside the hoop. No need for pulling the air box as mentioned above
