I have about 700 miles on this sled. I've used only about a gallon of oil since new. How do I check to see if it's getting enough oil?

Well let's do the math:

Assuming you got about 15 miles per gallon for those 700 miles you would have burned 47 gallons of fuel making your fuel/oil mix ratio 47:1. Which is reasonable if a quality oil is being used.

But if you only got 10 mpg the ratio jumps up to 70:1 which is most likely going to be a problem.

OIL NEVER KILLED A MOTOR.......LACK OF OIL HAS KILLED PLENTY

make a mark on your oil tank and measure oil and gas used each ride and calculate ratio. my 08 d8 is around 65:1 so i pre mix 1 0z per gallon every time i gas up. i would stay under 50:1

No need to check it, it's not using enough. You need to adjust the cable on the oil pump to increase it. 40 to 1 is what I'd be looking for after the adjustment.

Thanks Skibreeze. I haven't ever messed with injection adjustments before, is it pretty simple? I'm guessing I just need to pull my carbs to access the oil pump and cable?

Yep, I'd look at the marks on the pump to see where it currently is, but you definitely need to tighten the cable. It's easy, just loosen the nuts and adjust it. I'f the marks are way off, I'd get it closer to lined up. Otherwise I'd start with a at least a full turn, probably 2.
