2007 XRS 597 miles and crank piled up today

D
I'm not happy. I've always diligently warmed up sleds, (warmed it up at least 10 minutes today while changing into gear), rode on trail for 15 Km, using scatchers as well, then bottom end bearing piled up....interesting sounds.

I broke it in slowly after hearing all the crank failures on the 800R, i thought I made it through the 400 mile barrier....not. I'm really really not happy with this. I know it's warranty, but 2 weeks for parts and then another few days until it's done....then break it all in again?? Not good. Does anyone know if i get another 2 years of engine warrantee from the fix date of the new bottom end, or am i **** out of luck after the second year runs out in 2009? Thank god it happened on the trail and not 45Km into the backcountry.

Would think you are lucky because now you get the new engine & under warranty unlike anyone that loses one next year. Most all 07's will fail given enough miles-some cranks have gone after 2000 miles.

Get a new motor befor the warr. is out sweet ! a lot of people are going to get stuck next year. HV

Man-- I sure do get **** for riding a 600 H.O. but its ridiculous with all the problems people are having with these 11k sleds.

Drop the Hammer,
Did you notice any kind of engine vibration before hand? I have an 07 Adreneline with 400miles on it, and it vibrates pretty bad in the 2500-3500 rpm range. I am thinking its the crank, but not exactly sure. When riding around, 4000-8000 rpm the sled runs smooth and rides fine. Just wondering if the engine vibration is normal for the engine around those rpms'?

Sweet!!! New engine on Doo!! I had one last year as well--1 month from warrenty being up--Threw a rod out the case--and in a real bad place--mass pain in the buttocks--took alot of help and 2 Real bad sleds to get me out (AA/AT and Pinned W F O). But a week and a half later it was all forgotten with a new motor in it and running better than ever.
Look at it this way--it is early season--so you are noe GOOD to GO!!

Sweet!!

H20SKE...

I'm hoping for your kind of luck. Were going on a road ride tomarrow to break in a couple new sleds and make sure everything is working on the old ones. Hopefully my 07 will blow up and I can start the season with a freash engine!

The issue that probably caused your '07 to fail has been addressed on the newer 800R's so I wouldn't worry too much.
And don't break it in easy, ride that sucker hard from the start!! If there is an issue you want it to show up sooner than later.

It always seemed to vibrate alot for a stocker, but not as much as a mod sled with solid mounts, i did compare it to an 800HO 159X and it did vibrate more than the HO at around engagement rpm.
Maybe this is indeed a good thing, at least it died on the trail. And the logic of running it hard out of the gate is making a lot of sense now, get it to fail earlier and on warranty. Thumbs up to the boys at Motortech in Golden, BC. Once again great service and willing to go the extra mile for me in my situation. After reading the replies from you all, i don't feel so bad anymore, season's still early and....new engine baby!
Bombardier, if you read this, you should really fire the guy responsible for this and make an example of him/her...this kind of stuff makes people switch brands, even after 10 good skidoo's, something like this is disheartening.

I also beileve you break in a motor the way you ride it. Been on doo's for 20 years and the only motor that went tits was the only one I baby'd on break-in. 500 miles

Crank thru the belly pan

Clutch scraped my helmet

Yes, warranty is transferable. I had my 06 lost the crank at about 1100 miles. New engine under warranty. At about 2000 miles burned a hole through the PTO side piston. Sled was jetted at 460! So I know it wasnt lean....WTF? still under warranty.
