2007 UYSC Shootout & Charity Auction / aka Sled N Liver Tune --THANK YOU'S & Winners

:beer;:beer;Well we did it again.:beer;:beer; Another year down and another year that beat the last year. We are talking about the Upper Yellowstone Snowmobile Club's New Years Shootout and Charity Auction.

Every year on Dec. 30th the UYSC holds a shootout during the day. Its a race/hill climb thats sorts out who has what under the hood. Each year we perfect the racing more and more. This year we were running two wide, double elimination, in 4 different classes. At the bottom of the hill for all the watchers, we have a warming hut. Inside the hut we usually run heaters and cook up hot dogs. It was a great time although i managed to miss lots of the action due to a faulty trailer ;).

At night following the shootout we have a charity auction held back in town at the Miners Saloon. Here we always have lots of nice items donated from local & out of town businesses. I cant stress enough how important this auction is. The proceeds go to help THREE local entities; Friends of Cooke City S&R, Cooke City EMS, & the UYSC. None of this money leaves Cooke City. It all stays right here to be used on the local level by the folks who know best where it should go.

A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to all of the businesses and people who donated items to the auction.

Also Thanks to our Auctioneer Leo from Buns and Beds!

I hope I included everyone in there who deserves it. If I left anyone out I'm truly sorry, please send me a pm and Ill correct it. This year the auction was wonderful again and we have an unofficial total of close to 5 thousand dollars which will be split equally amongst the three organizations!!!

Also I would like to announce this years winners for the 2007 UYSC Shootout & Charity Auction / aka Sled 'N Liver Tune.

799 and Below Stock - TJ Krob (Snowests own M7man)
800 and Above Stock - Frank Olsen
999 and Below Mod - TJ Krob (on a different sled)
1000 and Above Mod - Justin Dugger piloting Randy Blocks M8Turbo

The turbo finals were a very good one that pitted Justin on the M8T against Brandon from CCMS on his Yammy Apex with 26 lbs of boost. Justin got the holeshot so Brandon pinned her open and in no time flat caught Justin. But in doing so he had built up so much speed that he had to let off before he A) came over backwards and B) lost it in the moguls. This action and the feathering on and off up the rest of the hill allowed Justin to take the title by just a NOSE. It was a very good show to watch!

Also can the guys who wanted the info about being members of the UYSC please pm me on here with your info. Steve Oh, Rob, Judd, Matt, etc. You know who you are.

Thanks to all that put on a hell of a weekend. I had a blast as usual (2nd year for the festivities), looking forward for another trip out to Cooke City in a couple of weeks.

WOW, Dang near 5k that is awsome!

I will get the King of the Hill video up sometime this week.

Thank you to all the racers for hanging with us on the starting line! Each year we will continue to get better at setting up the classes and races.

Let us know what you thought of the class line up? I thought that for what we had it was pretty close. The stock classes we really tight. I loved seeing people running rentals!

A great time we had again this year. Thanks for everything Robert. Tyler had a great time as well. Tell Girlie thanks for the front row seat for the Viks/Denver game. The avy class was very informative, I just hope next time I'm in town they have the 2 part class on the hill. I talked to the instructers at Buns & beds the next day & thanked them for coming out for it. I also think its very interesting, the list of locals that donate/sponsor this event. Lots of good peeps there.

It's always great seeing the people you know out there & meeting new ones. I kept telling everyone, I must be there to much when the locals start knowing me while I'm wearing my riding gear & helmet. HAHAHAHAHA
