Interested in replacing my 159 Powderlite track with a Camo new challenger 162. Can't find a rail extension kit. I've heard of changing the rear wheels on the skidframe to a larger size -wouldn't this negate the effect of the longer track? Any ideas or suggestions? Is it worth it?

I did the same thing to my sled, but relocated the skid 1.5" farther back in the tunnel. It works perfect.

+1 Just drill new 4 new holes - big improvement in track performance and improves handling as well! Tracks USA has that track for $449

I know of two 07's that have 162's on them and all they did was put on 8" big wheels and they work awesome

Just set the skid back 1", and get the 8" big wheel kit... and gear to 19/45, then your done. ( if you use the 7 tooth driver) Some clutching might be neccessary too.
The 162 is a lighter track than the 159 supposedly.

You might lose a 1/2 inch in overall length. with the big wheel, but the 7 tooth driver is a bit smaller, so you gain it all back again.

Mine works well.

Is it difficult to change the track?

Does it require any special tools to swap tracks? How labor intensive is it?

When you say relocate the skid 1" further back what all does this entail in addition to locating and drilling 4 new holes and bolting things back together?

Nothing... That's why it's such a sweet fix...
