2007 M8 vs. 2008 RMK 700

I am looking at buying a new sled. I rode both them and the m8 felt really bulky compared to the rmk..I have been on an m7 and the m8 feels alot heavier for some reason. M8-153, RMK-155. what do you guys think would be a better sled. Whatever I do, I would most likely just do a can for the first mod. Let me know. thanks in advance

Hey thats what my choices come down to.
I have no clue. :face-icon-small-con

What are you leaning against?

Both good sleds.

I'd lean towards the Dragon (cause I have one) It's really fun to ride

Kind of depends.
With the RMK (that's what I picked up this year), you can pretty much just hop on and ride. Maybe change the gearing.

With the M8, there is a lot left on the table as far as motor power goes. If you like to mod and tinker, I would get the M8.

I love the handling of the RMK.

ya, the handling of the rmk was amazing. It wasnt even the dragon. When i say mods I just do a can and y pipe at the most, maybe an intake and some clutching. The M8 is $7239 so about 8k out the door. My dealer only has one left. He said he would do the rmk for 8k plus fees. This is hard!!!!!

The Polaris will deffinately handle better than the M8. As stated above, the M8 has a ton of potential left in the motor. You can add 25hp for around $800. Very tough choice. Both sleds are very dependable, but personally I would give the nod to the Polaris.

I would do the Dragon. The M8 does leave a lot for engine mods, but then again it needs it to catch up with the other two 800's. I'm not sure about your dealer, but XTreme in Dacono has a smoking deal on D7's right now.

ya i think im going to go with the rmk. I like how it has top end like the m7 but bottom end like the m8. The dealer quated me $9200 out the door. about $8250 for the sled, is that a pretty good deal?

I have the m1000 and T600rmk. Both great sleds. The M series is better for climbing...does a really good job keeping the skis down and keeping it under control. The RMK is more fun overall but the chassis will transfer a bunch. RMK is much more light feeling. But, depends what you are into. For everything, the RMK is best...if you are into climbing the steeps, the M gets the nod IMO. If I had to pick one it would be the RMK, but it's a handfull on the steep stuff.

Thats hard choice??? MMMNN one of each can't go wrong...no I am with badass1000...wait!!! Lots of new stuff coming and even better deals on this year stuff....

Sounds like you might have made up your mind. IMO I have a 07 M8 and the two guys I ride with all the time have 700 Dragons. Honestly both sleds perform almost the same. The M8 will have more low end power, and more room for improvement with mods. But out of the box they both run almost the same. If you want to mod the M8 a little you will out perform the Dragon.. They both would be great though..
