2007 M8 Primary Engagement

I bought an M8 over the summer, just replaced the DD bearing and oil and started her up and hung her from garage. I then spun the track, seems like the primary is sticking a bit or something - maybe not. It is engaging around 4k RPM - is this normal? Stock clutching as far as I know, titanium or sliver springs in both primary and secondary.

What RPM should I shoot for? 8k or so? SLP pipe, can, y pipe.

I am at sea level now with 68 gram weights - heading to northern big horns in two weeks.

Thanks.

Jon

yes around 4000 is normal...but you can get different primary springs for a "softer" hit at 4000..or get a bit lower starting rate and bring it back close with thunder products glide washers..

i like around 3600-3800 engagement..

i think stock rpm targets were around 7750..i have the pipes and bigbore and i shoot for 8000 now..

i put on that thunder products 911 cover...and that is one heck of a good primary mod that really is smooth..

I could be wrong but I heard the 2007 m8 power peaks around 7800rpm which means if you aim for 8000+ rpm you are Actualy loosing power. (Dont take my word for it do some reaserch) also yes 4000 is normal. I like 3500 I had in my old sled but not I'm at 4000. Still good though

Mine hits at 4250. I am liking it for now as when I am blipping in the trees I am on it when it hits at 4250. I seem to get stuck a whole lot less.

IDK as I am a fairly new rider, but my riding has been improving much faster in the trees now that my engagement is a bit harder.

Again, I am new so my improvement could be straight do to my relative suckyness. :noidea:
