2007 M1000

Picked up a 2007 M1 162" with 1700 miles on it. Guy told me its pull and go. Put Premium pump fuel in and this sled cant get out of its own way, doesn't rev past 6000rpm might get up to 50mph not smoking black though just lack of power. Tonight I did a compression test has 140 both cylinders any ideas? Also when you initially give it gas to take off there is a grinding noise coming from I feel like the diamond drive or could be from the track. any thoughts would help please I new I should have kept my old trusty 1M mountain cat.

Unless it has a different head on it, they actually are programmed from factory to run best with 87 octane. Not saying that this is causing your problem though. I would definately pull the secondary clutch off and the cover on the diamond drive. Take a look inside to see if the grinding noise is coming from there or the secondary clutch.

Grinding noise sounds like secondary and/or secondary. Rpm issue does sound like powervalves.
