2007 M1000 Runs like crap below 2500' elevation

What's the deal. Today we unloaded at 1450'. Sled ran like crap.

If I nailed the throttle it would jump right up to 7500. If I held if for a couple seconds it would act like I flipped the choke on.

Once I hit 2500' or so it ran just fine. Then on the way back down the hill around the same spot it started running poorly again.

Not much snow until 2500', temp light never came on but it could have been warm.

Running 92 octane fuel.

Any ideas?

Are you running a fuel box,if not, might be to lean and ecu is tring to compensate, and putting it into limp mode, jus my 2cents

No box.

Running the y pipe and BMP can. With the BMP adjustable regulator set at 50psi.

I think you are right. Limp mode. But why?

Do you have to run 92 octane with the y-pipe and can? The manual says to run 87 octane stock. With the burn rate being different that might be setting of the limp mode that you are experiencing.

Good point Red. I will call BMP and ask.

I did talk to BMP today and they think I might be to fat on fuel. I am set at 50psi at 1500-1800 rpm. Eric thought I should try and run 48psi. He is thinking this may be messing with the computer also and when it tries to increase the fuel for the elevation it over fuels and loads up.

So I am going to try this also.
