2007 engines???

I have heard that there is a crank or bearing problem on the 2007 rev 800's. But also heard that certain engine numbers weren't affected. Could anybody tell me more info on that and any other issues that sled has. I am riding a 2004 Polaris RMK 800 now, but have been thinking about changing. Polaris has had there issues with 800's the last few years. Any info would be helpful, thanks.

You can do some searches in the forum and there are tons of different threads on it. The later ones were supposed to have an R stamped on the case I believe and if you got one of those then you were pretty safe.

It wasn't an issue with the crank nut it is the crankl is what fails prematurely. The cause was some of the cases were machined wrong (too tight). With the cases being too tight and squeezing the crank excessively the bearings would fail early. The problem is there is no way of really knowing which engines are bad and which ones are fine. Their were engines that had crank failures at 200 miles and some that had failures at 1500 miles. I had a 07 new and rode it for 1800 miles with no issues. I bought a used 07 last winter that had 1100 miles on it and will take my chances. Try to find a used one that has had the engine replaced with a new shortblock, these were updated engines and should have no issues.

I am currently having a 860 installed on mine and will have the crank trued and balanced and just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.
