2007+ Chevy Avalanche Need Reviews

I've been searching for a new vehicle for some time now and think I've finally decided on finding an 07 or newer Avalanche. I have a few questions for you guys that have them. What are you getting for mileage? Do you have any complaints about the vehicle? Does the 5.3 have enough power to pull a 2 place or a loaded car trailer in the flats? Thanks for your help.

5.3 had good power, if you are going to be towing get the 4.10 gears, although that will effect your mileage.

We had one at work, although it was not a 2007. I really liked it. Good power, good weight distribution, etc.

Mileage is not honest because we did little highway with it.

The dealer here brings me alot of 5.3 and 6.0 heads. alot of valve problems. The intake valves will ( Tulip) Heat, High RPM, whatever. They do have good power. Towing, Go diesel. Cummins. Just an opinion.

I have a Superduty or Single axle truck to tow anything big. It'll mainly be used as a car with the occasional 2 place or car trailer behind it if need be.

I haven't driven them much, but they look pimp. I would go with the 5.3 and lower gears if it were me.

You may want to look at getting a new one off the lot, they have some good deals right now on the new vehicles. A friend of mine just picked up an 07 Tahoe for around 28,000, it is damn nice vehicle that sold for 55000 the year before. In the same breath he told me that one of the guys he works with bought a brand new suburban for 30,000, loaded. I didn't even argue with him on his decision because when he gets stuck on something that is what he is going to do. But for 2,000 a new suburban? I would have done it. My inlaws picked up a new Chevy 2500 gasser for right at 30000, no trade.

Maybe they dont make the avalanche anymore, so you may want to throw this advice out the window. Not sure, dont follow what they are making anymore.
