2007 600 RMK

Hey guys i am a new member and i thought i would try this out and see how it works. I have just purchased a 2007 600 rmk and i would like to remove the air box to clean it out ( it looks as maybe some bees have made a nest in it ) So my question is how in the heck do you get the air box loose and out of the machine. Also i am thinking of raising the handlebars does anybody know how far you can go with the stock cables ? Any help would be great !

I dunnow how to remove airbox on this machine, but you might download shop manual:

and figure it out yourself. As well, ALL stock cables are ok to go for another 2". So it it is safe to get 2" raiser, unless you have some aftermarket raiser installed already.

If it's anything like my 700 cfi I took apart this weekend, the airbox actually separates in 2 pieces, and comes right out. You just have to take a few things out first to gain access to it

Air box

I've had an '07 in the trailer for a few years now and I still haven't figured out how to get the air box out, what a bad design.

my 2 cents

remove the electric connection on the left , remove two vent lines in front .unhook the strap at top towards the rear ,simular as hood straps , and wiggle the box up and back off the carbs and pull out ,comes out much easier than it goes in . 2007 RMK's can go up to 7 " of total rise with no ext. to brake or t-cable , have fun with it , very good sled !

When reinstalling, wipe a little oil onto the carb boots on the air box as it will help them slide onto the carbs. Double check that the mag side of the box has actually gone onto the carb as it is very hard to see.

Very helpfull, Got it out and now to get it back on is a different story, I think what i will do is go with a SLP air box so i can reach down inside. Jetting will now be required and i have 145 jets, what size would you suggest ?
