2006 summit tach problem at idle

Hey all
Need a little help I have a 2006 summit 800 H.O. when the engine is idling the tach doesn't work and the temp. light, oil light, and the battery light, comes on and does a couple of beeps every couple of minutes. When it is throttled up the tach starts to work and the lights go out. However if the thumb warmer is on it runs like crap and the tach quits or jumps all over. If the head lights are put on dim the tach quits and the lights (temp., oil, and battery lights) comes on. Could this be a stator or something hard to find but cheap to fix like a bad connection or shorted out wires. It doesn't have electric start or a battery either. Also when it is started there is a 10-9 in the speedometer display. I believe it has set a code? When I am riding it it also has a - on each side of the speed.

Thanks for any help
T

2006 non e start sleds do that, with a low idle. it is not broken they just do that unless idle is higher. 10-9 is the setting in the gauge for the driver size to calibrate the speedo.

Mine did the same as you discribed but code was 9-9 other wise to the nuts!!
I was going to post the same ? I was thinking I had a bad hand warmer but now maybe not.
Anyone have an answer for this ? Thanks Nick

It sounds like that relay that's on the airbox. My '06 did that. Your Doo dealer will have that relay. If I remember correctly, a Ford Pickup has the same one, which you could pick up at Napa/Autozone for a little less dough. Sorry I can't remember the specifics:confused:

Thanks, I ran the ? by Big John and he agrees with you . Will give it a try, if it 's the problem will be a easy fix.

Napa wanted $15 for a simular relay, but the local car starter installer had a box of them $5 each so I bought two and still saved $30!!! ;)

What a markup on that little guy! LOL
