2006 RMK 700 151"

I found an 2006 RMK 700 151" with 1500 miles for $3300 that I'm looking at buying but don't know much about the newer RMK sleds. Would appreciate everone's feedback/opinions on this sled, especially those of you who have actually owned this sled. Is there any problems (updates/recalls) or things to look out for on this year of sled? Thanks for any help.

You will probably get more responses in the 900/700 forum. I have one and it has been a very good sled! They do need some updates and require some tweaking though if their stock. I love mine for the money I have into it.

owned several polaris sleds

I used to like polaris but wouldnt ever give them a dime of my money again. Bought a new 09 D800 and only got 1100 mi. out of it. Tired of spending thousands rebuilding and tired of fighting polaris on warrenty issues. The have gotten so bad that customer service wont even talk to you about a snowmobile. over $13000 into it, and ran ok for 1 season. spent this season in shop. 1/22/11 until present, and we are still going in circles. They are even trying to screw the shop at this point. Polaris is raping their customers. Over 5 different aftermarket fixes for same motor, recalls, reflashes. List of suspected causes is a mile long, oil ratio, exhaust valves, Air box, intake, air bubbles in oil lines, factory tollerance levels, etc... the list is endless. check some of the newer model forums

My recomendation is support a company that will at least stand behind their product, my guess is that if polaris doesnt start helping or responding then dealers will stop selling because they lose money trying to keep loyal customers.

Yamaha is the best these days, and AC and Doo will at least work with you instead of against you

Check out the 900 forum and you will have more answers than you know what to do with, lol. The 06 700 is a 1 yr motor which in itself is a little unusual, but it is generally regarded as a strong motor for its size (755cc) and decently reliable when all the preventative tips are taken care of. Essentially the only difference between the 06 700 and the 06 900 is the smaller top end, everything else is the same.

The 06 700 and 900 don't have many fans. Heavy stearing and lot's of problems that you can read about on the other board people have directed you to.

Go 07 and newer on the 700 and you'll have a great sled. 07 and newer on the 600 and you'll be very happy also. Avoid the 800s basically from all years and particularly 07 and newer.

And $3300 for that sled would be way high. More like a $2.5K sled during high season. $2K right now and only if you like to wrench.

All IMHO.
