2006 rmk 600 ho Q?

Hello everyone. I am new to the sport of snowmobiling. I have a background of dirt bikes and stand up jet ski's. I just pick up a 2006 rmk 600 ho. I was wondering if there is anything that I should b looking for to go wrong or has all ready gone wrong. Its my first sled. but as I stated above. I am familiar with 2 strokes. just not sleds. I have searched and searched on this forum for stuff about this sled and there is nothing on here. So any tips or help would b much appreciated. I also can not seem to find parts for this sled as well. Like tunnel extensions, snow eliminators, and high rise seats. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would b much appreciated. the riding season is only a few weeks away. So if there is anything that needs to be looked for to get fixed or I can add a few things to it. I would like to get that all done before the season begins. thanks

The 600 is a great motor that hasn't had any major problems. Gas, oil and go with that thing. If you want to add some goodies start with some Better Boards (contact FBomb) and get rid of the stock Sidehiller II skis. Put some good skis on it and that thing will hug a sidehill like no tomorrow.
Check the clutches over, clean em up reall good. Change your chaincase oil, clean the exhaust valves and maybe check the bellows for holes.
Grease all of the suspension points, the zirk behind and below your driven clutch.
Check to make sure the steering linkage is all tight and nothing has come loose in it.

Then enjoy the heck out of it thats a pretty good sled, especially to learn on.

Clean the power valves. If the last owner has not or ran non synthetic oil you will want to. Cleaned my 800 valves and it was a new sled.

The '06 600 RMK is a great sled. There are a lot of mods you can do, depending on how long you plan to keep it. A 660 kit with a pipe and air box mod wakes it up and doesn't decrease reliability. You can ride it like it is and decide if you want to upgrade later and not be out a bunch of $$$ that you will lose on re-sale. But do what Turbolover has suggested, make sure it's sound and the maintenance is completed. The 2006 had a fuel tank recall, make sure that's been done. Call a Polaris dealer with the VIN and they can check to see if the work was performed. Here's the cpsc link:
