2006 or 2007 Summit?

Yes, the 06 out of the crate was a good sled, especially compared to the 07 IMO. Get the 06, you will have more time riding and less time wrenching.

You know I thought the same thing until I rode my new sled with all the updates done...it pulls like no Rev I have ever owned. My 04 and my 05 were great sleds but this 07 is the sled to have... Thought about the new XP but wanted to let it get another year and see how they hold up...

riding buddy has an 07 144 and has had no issues with it. his was setup very well out of the box for some unknown reason. it makes my fathers 900 mtn. cat and my cousins m7 both look silly. reinforce your bulk head though. it tends to bend!

I went from an 05 to an 07 rev and it was set up so well right out of the box! nearly 400 miles on two of them with NO ISSUES! try and get one with warranty so that if something does let go ur covered ne way. best of luck!!!

i dont believe that at all but if its true then ski-doo needs to learn the meaning of reinforcement. nun is torn. left ski 6 inches back bulk head twisted. body panels dont fit, tunnel is bent. all from a pretty insignificant hit. but once u get these things built up with supports (home made) they kick ***. the motor is more than plenty and the thing floats real well for a 144. if i was going to buy one id just make sure i had good insurance on it. his company gave him 4500 to fix it so hes riding it for now bent back into shape and fixing it this summer.

Nothing wrong with a '07 with the updates and a Camo Challenger, noticably more power than '06.

I think there are "better deals" to be had on the 07's...you can find ones in basically any miles/colour/package/track length you desire with lots of extra goodies for a good price. I've put about 450 miles on my 07 X so far this year, loving every minute of it. Yes, I've played with the clutch a bit, and yes the previous owner had the shortblock replaced under warranty at 580 miles tho. So far, the 07 seems to run harder and ride better than any of the previous year Rev's I've ridden...

Had an 05 rev and loved it and just this year got an 07 used with 300km on it and it now has 1700km. Zero issues. Except the first day I got it and the clutch was slippin and after reading the boards here I thought crap. The problem was snow getting in through the little uncovered window on the left side panel. covered it up and voila the sled pulls like there is no tomorrow, and i super smooth and finally went through my belt at about 1300km and I only do mountain deep powder riding! Awesome sled and I agree with a previous post you will find a better deal on a near new 07. They rip and if your a good rider then just as good as the XP if your new then an xp will get you better faster. my 2 cents.
Remember people mostly ***** on the boards. I am not saying people have not had problems with their sleds but numbers can be mis represented here as most don't write on here how great the machines are as they are too busy riding...

The 06 was better out of the box - depending on where you ride. If you get a lot of wet heavy snow, the challenger lite on the 07's is a better track, but the powdermax on the 06 is better everywhere else. FYI, Ski-doo makes a nun / bulkhead reinforcement kit (in the race manual), that i added to the 04, 05, and 06 Revs - toughens the front end up a bunch, not much added weight. The goofy looking skidplates for the a-arms can save your a**, too.

yes, some of the 07s had issues, yes some of the 07s ran like a top! Better chances are with an 06 X if you want a sled that runs great! buddy, has an 07 X and he has had no issues with it at all but, you read all the threads and people saying in dealerships that the 07 800R was pretty much a lemon, just like what 05-06 900 RMK was. Luck, of the draw i guess if u have an 07 that runs like a champ! :)

06 would be my choice. and i think, the best year Summit REV ever built. imo.
