2006 M7 mid range bog...Boondocker setting??

I finally got my sled going. The bad roller in the clutch turned into a new spider which turned into a broken tower. I got my new clutch on tonight and got to ride it for the first time. It runs good and pulls hard except for a mid range bog. Mostly from a dead stop or real slow speed stab the throttle wide open it bogs for a while then cleans out and goes. Anyone know if I should be adding or taking away fuel and where at? (It is all set to zero right now) I will start messing with it the next couple of days, but was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions.:beer; Thanks!

When my sled was doing that, it was removing fuel from the 6800 range (I think). It almost hit a wall at that RPM, right when the power valves open. It's still doing it a little, but I think it's because I had the wrong clutch weights in it. Oops!

Thanks I will try that tomorrow. Did you take it away at Lo MED High? The more I think about it, it might be more in the low end. If I am going 40 mph and stab the gas it takes right off.

Im having the same exact problem, but I noticed that it seems to go away as I get higher up in the mountains. I ride from 3000-5000ft so im hoping that it will just be a matter of changing the weights. I tried taking away and adding fuel for an hour but nothing seemed to work.

My rpm's seem good so I don't think I want to change weights. I am running 75.5 grams at 1400'

From what I recall, I was removing it from the hi setting as well. I was running twins when this was giving me fits. I think I ended up at -13.

I didn't get a chance to try it today. Anyone else have any suggestions on Boondocker settings?

Just to give you guys an update I went -2 mid and -3 high @ 5000 RPM and the same @7000 RPM approx. (I cant remember exactly what RPMs the BD box settings are at ) But it got rid of 99% of the bog. Then the Diamond drive let go! I pulled it off and pulled the cover off and the 2 main gears look good, but it's full of shavings and the bottom shaft won't turn. It looks like the lower shaft must have walked back and forth and wrecked the cover also. Now I'm trying to find a deal on one. I might try to rebuild it myself. The dealer wants $800 for a new one and BDX wants $650. I have ridden this sled 10 miles since I bought it!

the m7 sleds can very allot on the boon docker setting, at least from my experience, with two 7s setup the same, one cant run the same settings as the other, the exhaust temps go though the roof. it could be because of the fuel pressure but in any case you should always check your setting with wash, plugs or EGT and not go by what works on another m7 because I would have burnt mine down!!!!

Yeah I have heard this before. I ordered EGT's but they haven't come yet. Not a big deal now that I need a Diamond drive.

1M800, I feel your pain on riding it ten miles and stuff going wrong. I had the braking bolt broken before I even rode it. Hope your season turns around!

Now I decided to pull the head as long as I couldn't ride and the guy I bought it from lied to me and said it was 13:1 and it is 14:1. I suspected it could be because I called RKT and gave them the invoice number and they told me it was 14:1. So I called the guy and he said no way...he said they were wrong. So I just verified that he is a liar. I wish I could remember his forum name so i could let everyone know. But he never PM'd me always email. I am going to take some pics of the piston wash and post on here later today to get some feedback. I have no idea what I'm looking for.

the mag side is lean, looks like you came close to melting the top, most likely when you where just cruising down the road about 5800-6500 rpm, which is where mine is lean. you leaned out that area to fix the bog!!! mine had the same results!!
