Hey I don't own a cat I am just trying to help a buddy out. He has a 136 inch crossfire 600 and is wanting to put a 144x2 on the sled. I have no clue exactly what is all needed except I know where I can get rail extensions for the sled. Any suggestions on what 144x2 inch track to use. Also will the sled need a tunnel extension if so any suggestions on where to get that. Another thing would the m6 clutching and gearing be pretty close if we were to switch it to that. Any help or suggestions on how to go about this would be much appreciated.

Thanks

If the 06 and 07 tunnels are the same, which I believe they are.
You will not need a tunnel extension.

Just did the conversion to my 2006 Crossfire 700 and there nothing you need to do to the tunnel. All that you really need is the rail extensions and a new track. I went with a 2 inch off of a ski-doo, but is really up to you what track for the riding you do. If you do some trail riding I would go with a Backcountry 1.75 inch track. As far as the gear I would go with the M gears 57/63 being that it is a 600. Clutch from a M6 for your elevation should work good or go with a custom clutch kit from one of the shops on here (got mine from speedwerx's). If you get the 10.4" secondary clutch conversion that might help a little too. One thing you might want to think about do if you ride in the deep stuff is the rear suspension drop brackets off the M's for add clearance. If your interested in doing that there are a couple of wright up on that as well. Hope that helps.

I did this to a 2008 XFire 1000..Get the rail extension kit, and no need for tunnel ext kit. Thats the max length without the tunnel kit. I ran a 144 by 1.75 back country and it did very well. I suggest gearing it down a little bit as well. But its a slick set up.

If he cares about powder more than trail, the powerclaw in a 141 works VERY well, if not that track, then a CE 144, but the 144 is quite a bit heavier.

This is my second season with my main sled being a 141 & I couldn't be happier with how it performs compared to similarly modded sleds with 153's on them (challenger tracks)

Easiest way needs only track (max lug size 2"!!!!!) and rail extensions. Also 2 gr lighter weights work good (at least at 0-3000ft).

If you put bigger lug you need to change rear suspension mounting brackets and remove blocker inside the front shock. Stock gears works if you drive 50/50 trails and off trails.
