2006 800 Summit no electrical

Tried to go riding yesterday and when I got to the mtn. 145 miles 1 way. I started my sled and it idled fine when I hit the throttle all it did was blubber and sound like it fouled plugs. After changing 3 sets of plugs I noticed that I had no electrical. No tach, headlight, tailight no beep beep when started no backup alarm although it does go into reverse, no hand or thumbwarmers. I looked at the fuses and they appeared good and looked for any unplugged connectors. Took the DPS key off and on several times to no avail. What could be the problem????????????????????

Carry a spare, all the Rev's and XP's use the same relay and it's common. Easy way to ruin a days ride!

Same Thing

I had the same thing happen and then everything just started working again. I'm about 500 miles down the road and have had no problems since. I think I'll be heading down to the local Napa store to get that relay now though.

NAPA part # AR143 has the mounting tab, and # AR201 does not - both will work, as this is a common Accessory Relay (AR).
Just had the same problem, and thanks to this forum, was able to quickly and inexpensively fix the problem. Thanks!

Well I'll be dammed, if I just didn't have the same problem today. So when I got back all pissed off that I would have to dig into a electrical problem, I quickly jumped onto the web site and low and behold their was my answer. SWEEEEEEETTT.......
Thnxs guys you are the best.........

Kind of sounds like what happened to me last night. My headlight started blinking, red exclamation warning light came on , tack quit working for a while. Made it back to the truck but not sure what happened. Thought it may have gotten hot since we were on a trail heading back out. You guys think it is the relay? What is the red exclamation warning light?

the red light was probly the low oil light. but everything else was probly the relay. i taped my replacement up with black electrical, dont know if it was moisture or the beatting from the moguls that is hard on them. only replaced the relay 1 time though.

Works like a charm

NAPA part # AR143 has the mounting tab, and # AR201 does not - both will work, as this is a common Accessory Relay (AR).

Went to NAPA today, less than $9 for the relay and I'm back up and running. Gonna go back to carry a spare, could save mine or a buddy's day.
