2006 700 Fusion intermittent reverse

Try and make this short. Sled blew up was parked in the bush. Pulled out of bush by current owner new engine transplanted. Starts runs fine but reverse intermittently doesn't work. Checked the wiring at the switch and when the button is pressed there is 5v. Any suggestions or known issues. Hard to pin down currently with being intermittent. Tx

So I was out in the garage tonight and I have it down to if I manually pull on the carb lever to idle it down it goes in and out of reverse. I'm thinking it has something to do with the tps sensor?

Check stickys !! TPS and idle set screws all play into one another..TPS harness while your at it..
