2005 M7 vs. 2006 M7

Why is there a difference in weight of almost 20 pounds between the 2005 (461 lbs. for 153") and 2006 (480 lbs. for 153") M7's? I know that the challenger was offered in '06, but can't imagine this would be a 20 pound difference?

461 with floats
465 without

That is why I still ride my 05

RBR,
There were considerable strength upgrades as the 05's were experiencing some damage from those who like big air drops and jumping, etc. Tunnels were buckling and rails were bending, etc. I don't do big air and have never had a problem.

05-06

They just used ski doos scales in 05 and got called on it in 06 then used there own

I owned an 05 m7 for the last two years. It was a good running sled, but the 06 consitantly beat mine. It wasnt the challenger because i switched to that track. I think that they just had the 06 figured out as far as mapping much better than the 05's, the 05's they ran rich to aviod engine problems.

Take your ECU to your cat dealer and send it off to get the updated mapping put on it!

Still on my 05 and it is alot lighter feeling than the M-8 or m1's that I've rode.

I totally agree with you 007! The 800's and 1000's are tanks compared to the m7! I would never trade for either. But maybe the 09's are the ticket. Only time will tell.

forget the M7 the M8's are just as light but you get more power. plus if you get a holdover they are the same sled with a few adjustments and are a couple grand cheaper

Yeah, the m8 makes a whopping 4 horse more...

Than the 7, and unless you have the 09, they are alot heavier. BTW, the 05 mapping is too rich, which is why they work so much better with the SLP air intake and a can. My twins work pretty well with the BD box, so if you want you could try that approach.:D
