Hi I have a 2005 M7 (wife's sled) that recently developed a low end bog. It stutters and takes abit to get going occassionly at the low end of the throttle range. It just about throws me over the handle bars when it happens. I pulled out the power valves and they were all crudded up, so I cleaned those, but the bog continues. Anyone else run into this problem? any ideas how to fix it?

Thanks,

how many miles on it?

Its completely normal. Usually the thing that does it is if you have an aftermarket can or intake. If you do, take it off for a ride and try it and see if it goes away. If it doesnt go away it could be something like the power valves or the clutches might need to be cleaned. But even the dealer sais you will have it with any m7.....that is the only thing that was remotely a problem with them but it doesnt effect engine reliability at all. If you do all this and it continues.....there are ways to throttle around it. If you can memorize when it happens or what rpms it happens at usually you can feather the throttle the second before it happens. Because what causes it is when you are at a consistent throttle and then go to full throttle, it will bogg a little then take off. Hopefully this helps.

Ya, like AC 4 life mentioned, it seems like these sleds are just famous for it. I have found that if you learn how to work through the throttle more instead of stabbing it, the bog goes away and isn't an issue. However i know that sometimes you just need the throttle "right now" :) I have played with ours a little and have been able to work around the bog, for a 700 you really can't beat an M7, they just go!

bottom end bog

I had the same problem in cook city mt. but when i come home to south dakota its gone very responsive works great.Hears the question for you the brain box that sits on the air intake at the nose of the sled look at it and see if it has a circle or a box i am not totaly sure but i was told that the ones with the circle could have somthing to do with that. I have a yellow circle on mine so not to sure about that hopefully somebody has heard of this and can help

Just hit 3700 miles on it.

With 3700 mile i would check out the clutch it sound like a cam arm that the bushing has gone bad and letting it swing to the side and hanging up the clutch. Even if it is not the clutch it should be checked out, 3700 miles on a m7 is just about it on a drive clutch.

M7 bog

I have the 05 m7 with 1700 miles on it. I live in North Dakota, low elavation. With everything completly stock when got it in ND had terrible bog ( seemed almost fat) when I would just stab it would pull out of it. Went to West Yellowstone had no issues with the bog. Would it be in the fuel mapping system? I have the triangle on my box.

You have adj spring pressure on your secondary. Take of some load on that spring so your engine is getting a little more load at low end, that will work. Your engine is to light loadet for the fuel it gets right now. You also need stock clutch parts...Changing engadement spring for higer engadement will also give low end bog.

This type of EFI sleds does not sens the air going into the engine ,like a carburated engine does, thats why.

It was the TSS. I had added a goldfinger left hand throttle and the bolt going thru the right hand throttle was too tight causing the TSS to activate. The dealer got me straightened out!

Thanks,

Thanks,

Un plug your engine shut off. (you will have to use your key for starting and shutdown) If your bog quits it is the tss (throutle sencing switch). You can spend money on a replacement or cut the wire. I have seen two of these this year. My brother-in-law's was acting just like yours. My wife's would do it and back fire. I don't rember the color of wire. (Black) You can just run three jumper wires between your plugs. Remove/replace them one at a time until the shut off switch works. Cut your wire on the switch side of the plug and tape the ends. Problem solved.
