2005 king cat 900 efi

I believe it should spin about 7500 stock, your tach could be off that far, my 05 efi is ported and has a bikeman pipe mod done to it, spins 7700-7800.

I have a can on mine and it will turn 7800 but i try to keep it around 7600 it were it feels like the most power is and will mantain at the rpm no matter what.

Thats a lot of R's to spin that big crank and pistons. I ran mine around 7400-7500 with a stock single and 7600-7800 with twins. I guess clutch it to where it feels right and run it. The danger with spinning a crank that big that fast, is that you can easily twist a crank if you blow a belt at wide open throttle.

I'm with Rixster here, seems a little high on the RPMs. Mine pulls like at freight train up to 7,500 rpms. I feel like its working really hard even at 7,500 - I'd be reluctant to go higher than that with a single. Especially if you want it to run for a long time!
