2005 Duramax Question

Recently bought a 2005 Duramax. Love the truck so far. Bought an AFE Air Intake for it. However, started doing some looking and now am wondering if I am better off doing the AFE Mouthpiece mod on it instead of the intake. Wondering if any of you have done the AFE Mouthpiece? Should I skip the Mouthpiece and just do the Air Intake? Or should I do both? Any help is much appreciated.

Intake without the mouthpiece is a waste of time and money! The only restriction in the stock intake is the mouthpiece. If your not going with a larger exhaust and tuner, I'd just do the Mouthpiece and call it good.

As loudhandle stated the restriction is the turbo mouth piece... Afe is a good one you can also buy a factory LBZ mouth piece for cheaper but you have to mod the lly pipes a little to fit it...

All aftermarket cotton gauze filters flow better than stock. They also let more dirt into your high dollar diesel engine as well. So if you drive in really dirty conditions I don't recommend them. The stock air box and filter with a couple mods will flow enough air for 500+ horsepower at the wheels, which is also about the limit for the factory turbo.
