Hey guys, have not posted much on here, but have followed a lot of the discussions over the last several years. I just wanted to see if anybody has had this same issue and possibly has some advice or recommendations before I take the sled in.
I have been recently having an issue with the starter on my sled. When the sled is revved up and hits a certain RPM, the gear on the starter slides/vibrates out and contacts the larger sprocket on the primary clutch.
I thought it was possibly an issue with the starter, so I bought and installed a new one. However I still had the same problem. Then I thought it was maybe an electrical problem that was engaging the starter once the sled was revved up. After disconnecting the power and still having the problem, I am thinking it has got to be vibration that is causing the problem. I checked all of the motor mounts and there appears to be no issues here. Not really sure what else would cause this problem.
Any advice would be appreciated.
