2005 800 clutching and jetting help

I am working on 2005 800 w/159 track. Just got sled and it has been sitting for a few years so I am going through everything, (carbs, clutches, power valves, chaincase, ect)... I will be putting slp single and can on it with slp air box kit. I have serviced clutches and replaced spings. Primary spring is black w/green and 10-60 weights. Secondary spring is black, helix is 58-42-36. Not sure what jets it has yet, but I was going to start with 390's. Gearing is 19-39. Riding from 5000 to 8500. I am looking for help with a good starting point to get set up. Any pointers would be awesome. Thanks

Currently has following
slp pipe/can and airbox kit
800/159
gearing 19-39
primary black/green
weights 10-60
secondary black
helix 58-42-36

That's a pretty good setup. I'm not a fan of the black/green spring, I change to the SLP blue/pink or the Polaris Almond. You should be able to pull 10-62s below 7000' with the SLP pipe and that helix. Make sure and put a couple of delrin washers in the secondary and make sure the spring end doesn't have a burr on it that can gouge into the spring cup.

390s will be rich but that is a good place to start. I'm betting you'll be down around 370s before you are done dialing it in. But start at 390, the 800 doesn't mind extra fuel.

If you don't have a couple of small flowrights in the dash beside the gauge I would recommend installing them.

Thanks for the info. I'm not familiar with derlin washers. Is that like a teflon washer? Where would you get them or do you have to make your own? Do you put them on either side of the spring?

You can get them from SLP. On the old 98 secondary, I would put one in the cup, (between the spring and cup) and one under the cup. SLP says one under cup for newer 04 secondary. I might add, that sled-guy always has good info you can trust!
