2004 Summit 800

Hello, I'm new to this site and I'm just getting back into sledding after not owning a sled for about 8 years. I recently bought a 2006 Summit 800/151" with 1300 miles on it, and can't wait to use it. I am also looking for one for my wife. I've got a lead on a 2004 Summit 800/144" with less than 2000 km's, shop serviced yearly. He quoted me $4500 over the phone. This sounds like a great deal. Am I right? Although this sled is a little more sled than I was looking for, for my wife, it sounds too good to pass on. What do you guys think? What is this sled really worth. Any issues with the '04 800's that I should be concerned about. I'm going to look at it tommorrow. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. Is that $4500 canadian? If so, that sounds like a descent deal. If US $ Id say you could probably find a better deal. They are great sleds though. Make sure that the updated piston rings have been installed.

And don't forget to look at the carb boots. They crack / rot prematurely and need to be replaced to avoid a costly rebuild. Have fun.

04 Rev

Got a 151 800 last year, very fun sled. Paid 4000 for it and it had 2500 miles on it. Other than the recoil failing , its been a great sled. Yes make sure the ring update has been done. Dino

hmmmm and where might this 800 be? jk 4500 is a pretty good price for that i think, i pickd up an 05 151 this year with 3500 kms on it for 4500 so under 2000kms sounds good

That does sound like a good deal. I picked up a mint 04 800 H.O. Highmark Extreme Snowcheck model, which only means it came with a shovel, probe, cover and the Rev spare gas can. It has the 2.5" x 159" track and only mod is a can. 1600kms. I paid $5500 for it in January last year. I absolutely love it. Whether or not it's a good sled for your wife.... I'd say depends on her riding experience. My wife tried mine a couple of times last year and it had too much power for her. She's a pretty conservative rider but I'm sure if she gave it a chance she would have got used to it. Better to have too much power than not enough. Ended up getting her the 07 600 Rev. So far after 2 rides she loves it. For $4500 I'd get it. If it turns out to be too much for her you'll probably get your money back out of it if you sell it. Good Luck:beer;

2 X on the rings but at that price you can afford to re-ring it if necessary-not sure you'd have to as a wife's sled.

As far as too much power, I gave my 04 to my wife to ride and I rode my old ZX on family rides. I D^J clutch kit it so it would engage at 3,600 rpm and she rode it for 3 years before hanging up her helmet. I don't share any more:p

HAVE AN 04 800X 151 WITH SIMMONS SKIS, HPS CAN, JERRY CAN, SKIDOO BAG, SLED IS IN AWESOME CONDITION, MY 10 YEAR OLD SON CAN START, AND RIDE THIS SLED, IT WOULD BE GOOD FOR A WIFE'S SLED, NEW PISTONS WERE INSTALLED @2000 MILES, IT NOW HAS 3500 MILES ON IT, AND I AM ASKING $4200.00 OBO.

$4500 sounds like the going rate for a decent Rev in BC. I picked up an 04 800 151 in nice shape for my wife for $2000 with a blown motor. I was hoping it was just the top end but it turned out alot worse. It needed cases , a jug and some new pistons. After everything I'm into it for just over $4200 including a six hour drive each way to pick it up. The wife is happy especially with the starter that came with it.
For that price with a fresh rebuilt motor I would go that route again.
Good luck!
