2004 skidoo 151what ya think

hello all
my brother was thinking of picking up a 2004 ski doo 151 800 with 500 miles on it for 4600 and i was wondering what everyone thinks of this sled and if that a good price or not. i have an 08 d8 and am a polaris guy for the last couple years and have not keeped up on the doo's. any info would really help. thanks all...snow

I had a 151 x model and wish I never sold it.Bad rings and carb boots but it was a great sled!!!IMHO

so what should hel be looking for when he goes to look at it tomorow, i don't want him to jump in with out know. ya know..any thing spec. on the 04 800... thanks snow

Rings { they flake} and carb boots{they Crack} will need replaced if they havent already. Is this sled on craigslist in washington section it looks clean and stock The price seemed about 500 to high. He claimed 200 above trade in value and trade in value is 3000 so I think he is a little off.JMO

$4600 is a pretty fair price. Both ways. 500 miles is pretty low for an 04. Look real close at the things that wear and make sure there was not a swap er roo with the speedo. Check the NUN and make sure it is not bent. Make sure both skis are even (one not in front of the other) This will indicate if the nun is bent.
Like others have said. It needs new rings no matter how many miles on it.

04 running boards were not as nice as the 05 but work fine. The nun was built a little different in 05 but again not an issue, the newer nun will fit just fine if you crash it. If the nun is bent offer him 1000-1500 less and install a new one yourself for around $300.
If it doesn't have a skid plate, look at the front under the engine for pulled rivits or bent aluminum. (indicators of bent nun)

If it's a really clean sled that's not a bad price. My buddy just picked up an 04 151 with 2400 miles for 3300 bucks. Little higher in the mileage, but it also has a few upgrades like a vent kit and can. Pretty good deal.
