I have a 3500 cummins that is stock and I'm looking to spend about $2k max to get the tranny upgraded or i'm looking at the possibility of converting it to a 6 spd manual. Any advice or knowledge would be great
I know this won't help a ton but I actually wanted to swap my 5 speed to a 6 speed in my 03 2500 and I can tell that unless you find a major steal there is now way that 2k will do it... and that was manual for manual. You are goin auto to manual which would be even more. sorry
torque converter and valve body will be a nice improvement in the 48re for 2k.

if you already have problems, then you may be lookin for a complete rebuild.
