2003 Silverado 1500 Transfercase

Looks like our 2003 Chev 1500 transfer case is toast. What is the best way to go for repair, replace or rebuild? What is the most cost effective way to go?
Located between Issaquah and Pullman WA.

RPO NP8 NV246 AutoTrak. I am sure somebody on here has had one go out, just wondering what you found as the best solution?

price out one through the dealer with warranty then auto wreckers then a rebuild shop, if you get one from the autowreckers you are best to tear it apart and check it out, im not sure if these trucks are affected by the pump rub, if so then get the piece to repair that.

I bought one from a company called THE GEARCENTER. It was a new one they bought from GM. They needed cores

I bought a transmission with a 1 year unlimited warranty through them. You can sort by part grade, price, location, etc.
