2002 summit breather question??

After finding some loose hose clamps and tightening because of a coolant leak i notice a port coming out of the back of the cases, towards the MAG side, that looked like a 1/4" hose should be attached to it. It is sort of like a nipple that comes out and does a 90 degree turn towards the recoil. There isn't anything attached to it and with the engine running i can feel air blowing or pulsating out of it. At first i thought it was what supplied the vacuum for the fuel pump but that is impossible because the sled still runs just fine. If I plug the nipple with my finger with the engine running it will pull the engine down and almost kill it. Anyone know what this might be, or what should be hooked to it, i've tried searching on the net and looking at parts diagrams with no luck.

Possibly a line that goes to the DPM?????Just a thought..can you find a line that is just floating around?? If I still had my 02 I would look at it.. Dino

If it is the same port that I am thinking about, I am pretty sure it is supposed to have a cap on it. Check your plug on the mag side and see if it is running lean.
My buddy seized his 03 800 when a wire harness rubbed a hole in the plug and air leaked into his crank case.

Your sled will idle fast if it is leaking air. Cap it and re adjust your idle speed.

The plugs both look the same, a little rich, but still good. The sled has been ran like this for a while so i don't think it is leaking air into the mag side because it hasn't burnt down yet (knock on wood). I will try and cap it and adjust the idle speed and see what happens because it does tend to idle high (around 3000) but when you bump the throttle it comes right down to 1500 or so.
