2002 Polaris Pro-x 440

I have a 2002 Pro-x 440 liquid cooled. I believe I seized the engine, Can't pull it and get it to turn. My question is I would like to go to a bigger engine. What would fit and does anyone have one for sale? Would I be better off to rebuild the engine I have? Thanks for your help

you should search here and other forums with pro-x info as it has been talked about lots....and browsing the calssifieds here someone has recently posted a 600 ves engine for 1200 or so that would bolt up I believe..if you want to do this you should dig in and do some searches and educate yourself about it ,no disrespect meant.good luck

The by far easist swap would be the 600 swap... You could use 90 percent of the 440 parts to do this swap making it pretty easy...

If your more mechanically inclided Ive put 700's and 800's in Pro X 440 Chassis sleds with no problems too. You just use PRO x/ pro X2 700/ 800 motor straps and carb boots. You can use the 440 air box you just need to cut the holes to match the 700/800 carb width. Your mag side engine mount's needs to be moved outward after that its drop in and go. Really makes those light sleds scream. My 02 had a 700 non VES then a 700 VES in it with a 136 it was a great sled.

There is so much more to this that I can elaborate further if you want. PM me and I can even give you parts lists that you would need for each engine to put in the chassis. I'll be glad to give you any help I can. Ive done 02, 03, 04 Pro X/ Pro XR 440's with 600's, 700's and 800's.
