2002 700 bog

Iv got a 02 rmk 700 VES and its got an intermittent bog. when it bogs it will sit between 5000 and 6000 rpm. some times if i get out of the throttle and get back in it a few times it will snap out of it. It seems to do it the worst in deep snow but will still do it on the trail. I took the VES apart and cleaned the slides and replaced the bellows. it helped a little but it still does it. the plugs are a nice brown color. its got a SLP exhaust and a SLP air box. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys

Bogg

Check clutches. While you are at it, replace the primary spring and possibly the secondary especially if the ends of the spring don't line up. If it is fine when you start out but then happens after riding for a while, I would guess it's spring fatigue. Also try a different belt. Finally you need to make sure you aren't pulling powder into the carbs. This is a big issue on all sleds. Do you have the foam collar around the air horn that is riveted to the bottom of the hood with th SLP air horn kit? Seal up any places where powder can get into the plentum on the bottom of the hood that feed air to the cabs. SLP prefilters over the foam air intakes are a good addition. when they suck powder the will bogg big time. My tripple would do it when I loaded the hood with powder but I think that was heat soak on the pipes. Cleaned the hood and got air on the pipes and she would run again.
