2001 srx starting in cold

went to start the srx i bought the other day. has factory triple pipes. supposedly high compression?? will not start when engine is cold have to pull plugs and put gas in cylinders? what will solve this.. primer or maybe one way valve to gas tank.. as if maybe fuel from carb is leaking back to tank.. any help or info would be greatly appreicated

Make sure you are starting it correctly. When its cold, Full choke and dont touch the throttle at all. 2-3 pulls and it should fire. Then flip the choke to 1/2 and allow it to warm up.

If you open the throttle at all when trying to start it cold and makes the choke circuit in the carbs not work.

If you still have problems clean the carbs, the pilot jets plug very easy.

You dont have to modife the sled at all, these were not hard starting sleds. Even my full mod SRX would start on the second pull on cold mornings. Eric

make sure your choke cable is adjusted properly as well. like he said clean them pilots, they plug easy.

ok well cleaned carbs this morning just went to try it now and still nothing checked choke and seams to be all good??
