2001 800 twin no spark

This problem is on an 2001 800 twin carbed sled. We had to change the timing sensor because the nut came off of the recoil and ruined it. Then after replacing it , there was no spark. Now this is the weird thing about this. We found that if we unhooked the ground wire that goes from the ECU to the engine it had spark and would fire up. We tried switching out the ECU, no differance, tried the other boxes that control the servo motor, but no good. A little help please, THANKS JIM

Pinned is right, u should pull the flywheel. My SnoPros recoil did the same thing. Ruined the timing sensor, flywheel and stator and ran like crap before I finally pulled it apart. Magnets on flywheel grabs the steel parts and chews up it and stator. Good Luck!
