2000 Yamaha Mountain Max 700 belt adjustment?

I recently purchased a pristine 2000 Mountain Max 700. The original belt had 1000 miles and so I decided to replace it. The new belt is too tight and squeals at idle (I shut the sled off before the belt was damaged). My other 3 sleds are Skidoos -they allow you to adjust the belt tension by moving the secondary bottom stop. How do you adjust the belt tension on a 2000 Mountain Max 700?

It's real simple. Unbolt the secondary and turn it over where you'll see three small bolts. They take a 8 mm wrench. Take out the bolts and remove the washers that are on them and bolt them back in. This spreads the clutch apart the thickness of the washers that you take out. If you have too much play in tne belt after doing this you need to use a thinner washer than the one you took out, Ken.

My kid rides my old mm700 and I just broke the motor loose to check shaft to shaft alignment, got it squared and removed all the washers,it still made noise until I thru a mm600 belt on it that was old.Ill try the bolt trick next, thanks.
