2000 SRX Temp light continues to flash..

Took my GF's SRX out and when i started it non of the guages worked and after a while when they turned on the temp light kept flashing every 6 seconds or so. The sleds never done this before and its fouling plugs like crazy.. The temp was about 15 below though, could that be causing this? I was thinking bout testing the antifreeze, but my other thought was maybe just some loose wires? If anybody can tell me what the flashing temp light means that would help greatly. it usually flashes 3 times and it seems to only flash 2 times then keeps flashing.

my 01 did that, it was either the sender or the plug in i dont remember which it was exactly. it was still under warr. at the time.

your sled is flashing a code. you need to be more specific, watch the flashes a little closer, count how they go. on start up it should flash 3 times equally, then it will go to default. 3 short flashes is the temp sending unit, backfire could be tors. watch the light as it will tell the story.
