Just run it, and have a blast.
I've had an 02' 500 and put 5500 mmiles on it, an 01' 800 put 6000 miles on it.
Only thing i've ever done to them is cleaned the carbs twice a year (add a fuel filter too, cheap insurance) clean the RAVE valves, clean the clutch.
Awesome luck with both of them, no pistons, nothing.
I also added Dyno port pipe and cans, Boyesen reeds, and Thunder products VIPs.
With that combo, the throttle response is insane. If you don't want to spend the $ on the pipe, don't, or find a sno-stuff rumble pack on Ebay, should be under $100.
One thing you will want towatch is the exhaust connections. Both of them rattled and wore through, being a welder, i welded the wore out spots, then got the pipe and can, because i had an excuse.
