2 wheel kit of not?

i was gonna put a 2 wheel kit on my sled to make for easier sidehilling, but some people seem to think that sidehilling on a big track (162) with a 2 wheel kit will make the track very prone to jumping off the rails...any opinions or actual expirience in the subjuct?

do it, i like it on my 09 m8, but i noticed that when you do a wheelie of the top of a hill or something it liked to twist more than my friends 08 m8 sno pro without the two wheel kit but i think it's way better IMO

I would say if there was some problem with a 2 wheels the factory would not put them on a 162 or what ever. You do need a stronger rear axle with only two wheels, the first few guys to try 2 wheels found that out, all kits should have that figured out.

Go with the HCR 4-wheel set up and you will have the best of both set ups.

Do it. Most problems occur from having improper or uneven track tension. Just pay close attention to the track adjusting procedure in the instructions. Did it to my 07 162 and love it. No problems whatsoever.

No problems here

I've only ran 2 wheel kit's on my 162" since the day I've had it and never had any problems. I like the mod, don't know many that don't. Just my $.02.

I have one available that's basically brand new if anyone wants to buy it. I can save you a few bucks. Just shoot me a PM.

ok, sounds like i should do it....really like the hcr 4 wheels kit idea. do u recommend modifying the existing wheels and shaft to fit, cause i probably can, or should i get a kit? someone mentioned needing stronger shafts.......

i run the bdx 2 wheel kit with no problems and tons of miles on my sled also have installed 15 of the kits with no problems i would recomend it. its a cheap mod that works

all three m7s in our group including mine have been running the $20 BDX kit for 2 seasons now with no issues. i dunno how much you get for gains but hey it looks pretty cool.

Been running 2 wheel kits for 3 years, no problems

Whatsoever, would recommend, buy the $20 bdkit very simple, there is a post on here from a few guys who cut off there stock center piece and tapped out the center, it costs them 0 dollars and maybe 1 HOUR TO DO

yeah like i said before i put the arctic cat kit on. easy to install and made a whole different sled out of it. i would definately get a two wheel kit. im thinkin i might try to do a hcr setup soon as i like to jump

I had the BDX one last year and it snapped, ruined a good day and even more parts trying to get the sled out of the back country. its cheap and looks good, all of our group members are back to the 3 or 4 setup.

I built my own kit cut the factory shaft down and then drilled and tapped it out. It works great, I have never had an issue with mine and I do a bit of jumping.

Like everyone else has said if it didn't work then the factory wouldnt do it.

ok, next question....can i just take the 2 outside wheels off and run it like that without doing anything else to it? had it apart today and looks like it would work....might look kinda funny though.

I think it is a waste of time and money personally. Just as a wider track, I just dont believe there is any difference in sidehilling. My current sled has only 2 inside wheels, but that is because I bought it that way.
