The local National Forest Service Recreational Motorized officer asked me to provide him with information / part number for an attachment to make a single seat sled a 2 up.

They have AXYS sleds BUT the groomers only have room for one sled. They are required to have 2 people in the cab when grooming. Hence the need for a seat attachment.

Are there many choices out there ?

Polaris makes one for the voyager line of sleds but you have to install a cargo rack to hold the seat.

Personally I am looking for a good 2 up option to fit the Switchback Assault. I just need something easy on/easy in order to take my daughter a few rides each season. Finger crossed the 2018 accessory catalog offers something...

I'm going to assume they have AXYS "RMK's"? If it's the shorter rush style Polaris makes a 2nd person seat that attached to the rack you can get for them that's pretty nice.

They do not make a 2 up seat for the AXYS RMK but they did have a system for the Pro-Ride sleds but I'm not sure if that could be made to work on the AXYS. But here are the part numbers just in case.

You need this seat:

With this Rack:

The backrest is also separate, but I'm not sure what part number that is. I have seen this set-up mounted to a 2015 Pro RMK and I know the rack will mount to an AXYS RMK. I just don't know if the seat also mounts up.

It appears the seat mounts to the rack?

The sleds are RMKS 155 track.

We still have over 6 feet above 8000 on the north side as of 24 April! With a clear trailhead to snow! No dirt to the snow!

NFS has money to buy two more sleds this year. They will stay with Polaris.

They are looking for more trail oriented sled BUT have to ride in powder to go back and forth from the SNOWCAT to the trailhead. It is not uncommon to get up to 6 feet of snow in one storm so a utility sled is out of the question. And they have yo have 2 up option if one of the sleds break down.

It looks to replace the entire seat so I would think it mounts to the rack and existing seat location points.

This really seems like a perfect application for that new Polaris Titan. Yes it's a utility sled but with a 155 track and a system designed to add an extra seat and cargo space for any gear or tools you could need to bring along.
