It's really sad but it happens every year, a few times. Mostly in the villages, people (old and young) will go out in the crappiest snow storms and get lost. I'm not sure why they don't wait out the storms or travel in daylight, but they don't and end up frozen. 100% preventable which makes it even sadder.

Happens at any time and is real bad when alcohol or drugs is a factor.
The urge to get home is always a big one.
Some times snow is covering open water or the ice is very bad.
You just never know when your name will be called out here.
