2 stroke oil

Hey guys, thanks in advance. What 2 stroke oil are you guys running in your 800 RMK's? I've always run Interceptor in the past. Reason I ask is I know those etecs needs special oil. Are these 800 SDI engines similar at all or need anything special? Or just any full synthethic 2 stroke oil will cut it?

I run the gold. Any synthetic is OK. Just make sure you get enough of it. Keep an eye on your exhaust valves for buildup.

The Polaris oil is garbage and I don't think the interceptor is much better. The best oil IMO is red line 2 stroke racing oil.

I just run the VES Gold. Might as well support my dealer, and if I ever need warranty and Polaris asks him what oil I've been running he'll tell them. (I don't think they could deny warranty anyway, but if I'm running the gold it just guarantees they can't deny warranty based on oil)

I don't really care how "crappy" it is either... just my opinion, but I really doubt any of the failures we are seeing now a days are a direct result of oil. Maybe lack of oil... but that has nothing to do with the brand.

Why don't you think Interceptor isn't any good?

I've been running AMS Interceptor in my sleds for 6 years and have not had a single burn down (knock on wood!). I had 2,800 miles on my D7 and put 1,600 miles on my 09 D8 and never missed a beat. My Pro has 1,500 miles and it's been solid as well. Take it for what it is worth.

It is actually illegal for Polaris to deny a warranty because you use a non polaris synthetic 2 stroke oil. I don't think the Polaris VES gold plus oil is bad by any means. Much better than Cat's oil IMO.

I currenty run Legend ZX-2SR. Burns clean. Less exhaust valve carbon buildup than all other oils I've run in the past.

This is an oil thread though. We all know how these threads turn out sometimes ;)

As long as the oil you are using meets or exceeds the polaris OEM specs, your good to go.

personally I run KLOTZ in everything, from snowmobiles, dirtbikes, fourwheeler, weed whips lol.

One jug does it all, year round sports. Don't need multiple oils for different machines. Currently right now in my ice auger I have 110 with KLOTZ, conversation one the ice when you fire it up and get that sweet smell

Its all modded out, lol

I don't think it's illegal. It is legal if they can prove without a doubt the oil was the cause of a failure. I doubt this has ever happened though... unless you were using used motor oil or something. lol

I ran Dominator in my old IQR when I was premixing it as a 440, zero problems. Swapped to a 600HO and ran Interceptor, zero problems. Now with my RMK I run Klotz. They all seem to do a pretty good job. The Klotz smell is hard to argue with. Anyone running Blue Marble? I know a few guys who swear by it.

Lucas semi synthetic 2 stroke racing oil.
My toy is a snowmobile, Lucas toy is a frigin football stadium.

I know tons of guys loving interceptor. I think that's a great oil.
Redline is great.

I use good ole fashioned injex though.....
