Most of the S&R guys up there in Seeley are sledders, if I remember right.
Curt Friede (owner of Kurts Polaris is on S&R) last I heard.

I wish I could help out.

I'll keep checking this thread for updates.

SEELEY LAKE - Rescuers are continuing to search for two Helena men who were reported missing Sunday night after they went snowmobiling near Seeley Lake.

The Missoula County Sheriff's Office says a 49-year-old man and his 19-year-old son were supposed to be back by 8 o'clock on Sunday night, by they never returned.

The Seeley Lake Search and Rescue started looking for them around midnight and as of about 11:30 a.m on Monday, they still haven't been able to find them.

The victims' car was found near the Placid Lake trail head and rescuers on the scene believe the two men might be stuck somewhere and have no way to get out.

We'll keep you updated as more information becomes available.

The two spent the night in the wilderness after being reported missing last night. Both men are from Helena.

Missoula County Search and Rescue were out looking for two Helena men who went missing while snowmobiling in the Seeley Lake area on Sunday.

When the men weren't heard from when they were supposed to report home last night, the Sheriff's department was called.

We spoke with Deputy Bob Parcells, and he told us that they had found the men's vehicle at the trail head.

Parcells said the area had received significant snowfall, so the snow mobile tracks are difficult to follow, and the snow is also keeping any aircraft that might be able to assist on the ground.

NBC Montana will keep you up to date on the latest details of this story.

Lets hope for their safe return. I've ridden that area quite a few times over the years, wish I was closer to aid with the search.........

their out and safe
a group of their riding buddies and myself were just leaving and they reported the heli had located them and was picking them up

they had a stuck sled and one low on fuel
in a area they knew they werent walling out in the dark so they started a fire and spent the night tending it
did everything right and they got a killer heli ride to boot

and yes Kurt and the guys from SAR are all good riders and were out ALL night looking

Thank You to all that helped and passed on good prayers
