2 questions...

1. I finally got to ride my 900 for the first time and after intake, Vforce III's, Dynoport pipe and can, clutching, and hot air eliminator vents it ran great! Very pleased. I ran the trails in the upper Michigan (way north). When I came into town to fuel up my temp went to 158-168 at times but was just going through town for short periods, scatchers prolly won't help much do to speed limit and all. Most of the time it ran at 124-133 and that was 30mph +. So I figure that I'll live with that right?

2. If I put new headlights in (100 watt) will that strain the stator? I don't want to cook something prematurely. Also my brake light decided to stop working, I checked the bulbs any help? I haven't done anything yet except park them (2 sleds) in the garage since I got back, 25-31st I've been resting! BTW, glad to say that I smoked everyone that I ran up against poo's, kitty kats and scooby doos!:D

would love to get 30mpg...... i dont even get that in my truck, let alone a 2 smoker. im lucky to get 7mpg where i ride 50-70 miles a tank.... assuming the G is hight be side the H i would go as far as to say 30MPH lol, not to sure what speed scratchers are effective at but would highly recomend them even if you dont use them all the time. but you need them when you need them!

Scratchers definitely work better as you go faster, but they will still be effective down to about 15 MPH or so I would think... any slower than that and there wont be enough kick to get the ice up on the coolers.

Glad to hear she was running good for ya!:beer;

REDD, small world, Call me slowfusion/freedomrider/ba900,:D
Temps you are running are actualy very good, 124-130 is optimum and I've seen 900's hit 190 in low snow , safly but with a great loss of HP. You should be fine, Seems the F/I box is doing a good job. as for stator, the stators are weak on all newer sleds, be careful on what you expect from it,
I see your lovin the DYNOPORTMADDNESS. great smokin peeps, isn't it?

I agree wiyh every one that chimed in I would definetly get some scratchers on if any thing it will save you wear on your hyfaxes, but on my 900 witch is a 975 now I saw up to a 30 degree drop in temps by far one of the best things you can do for the 900 or any sled they are a great product

scratchers it is, gonna get the cable ones I tend to ge forgetful at times.:light:

Thanx, guys!!!
Ok, before I attack my brake light any spots that just go first, or just start from scatch? Bulbs are good!

Yes Dynoport you hooked me up with, thanx! Glad I listened!

A little shout out to all the members here!
It's all "help", "good luck on you trip", "glad to hear that" and just all positive
good stuff!

NO DRAMMA!
THAT'S THE BEST PART OF THIS SITE, THANX AGAIN!

I figure if you guys run yer sleds the way you do and they stay together (for the most part) mine prolly will see 3/4 at best of that. You all speak from experience not reading a manual!

i run up and around there in the u.p. as well. i just got a brand new 900 and have made one trip up there so far and i noticed the same thing. it is do to driven slower as well as not driving on snow. if u watch the faster you ride the lower your temp will be on your sled.

hope that helps
