2 moto or AD Boidvin - flatland

All:

Looking at these two kits. I am not looking at it for a mountain machine at this time - have 3 mountain sleds already. Tried out one in the mountains last year, and for now I think I will keep the Turbo Pro.

More looking at it to play around the farm. I have a "seniors" motocross track and some single trail on my place, and these look like way more fun than a sled. Most of the riding around here is small hills, etc and more open aspen forest.

Right now I have a 2008 RM 250cc 2 stroke. I have modded (barely a stock piece left) it mostly for enduro, and a little practice motocross . I don't want a 450cc 4 stroke. Next bike will be a 300cc KTMXC. Just to get e-start.

So which kit do guys have experience with? What is the best to get in terms of the front ski for playing around on some trails, boondocking etc? Since I will be playing on the MX track a bit - I am leaning towards the Biovoin.

Price is an issue. I have a line on a used 2moto for $800. It is one of the original kits. I understand that all I will need is a fit kit. The Biodvin kit is $2,300 new. Much less that $4,500 for the new 2moto or $7,000 for the Timbersled SX

The other thing is snow cover. Can sometimes get a little sparse around Edmonton. They say that the Biodvin kit can run without snow....

Thanks for your replies.

IM out in In Albert and i ride a KTM 530 with the 2moto kit, it works just fine, only thing i didn't like last year is when there is deep snow, you gotta keep hard on the throttle
I haven't been to the mountains yet so I don't know how it would handle there but around here is fine, and besides, if you can pay 800 for a 2moto that's a steal of a deal.If your simply now happy, turn around and sell it for double.

Get the 2moto and get a timbersled ski or explorer ski. Or just save for the timbersled kit. You will be disappointed with the explorer kit.

No experience with explorer but I like my 2moto, lots better handling than my timbersled on harder packed snow. Waiting for the R2 upgrade to show up anyday. Hopefully that will help a little in the loose stuff

I have had the Ad Bovin and it is a complete waste of money..... Also keep in mind if you have low snow the blades on the bottom of the ski will catch... it will be unridable.. This happened on my 1 test ride.

I've ridden both, and I concur, the Explorer kit from AdBoivin is complete junk and a waste of time, at any price.

The 2moto is a solid kit which holds up really well, and will provide you with fun in the flats. It's not ideal in deep snow, but that's not what your looking to ride.

Just said "screw it" and got the Timbersled SX kit. Life is short. And you can't take it with you.
