2 injector 800 drivabilty thread

I would like to dedicate this to engine only. 0 hr ECU(not broke in), ethanol plug installed(making it fat)and oil in tank w E10 91 octane. Depending where I was riding 1' to 3' of dry snow. Had amazing crispness and low end, felt very responsive, smooth and linear. Hard to tell if it has more power up top than 4 cfi 800 cause not broke in but it is looking very promising. Totally pumped for broke in ECU and cylinders and non ethanol fuel plug and non e fuel in tank and no double oil. Should be AWESOME. LETS HEAR SOME ENGINE ONLY THOUGHTS GUYS!

So, lets revisit my thoughts on this one. Sled ran good till about 250-275 miles, started having a stumble, bog at high speed cruising at about 7400-8000 rpm. Over the next 125 miles (2 separate rides) problem got much worse and happened almost all the time at any trail speed but still ran ok for short bursts and low throttle situations. Took the sled in to the dealer and no codes, they called some peeps at Polaris and the looked at a few things(wiring harness, clutch spring) and decided to put injectors in it.........VOLIA thing runs friggin awesome again, if anyone is having drivablity issues cover the basics and then have the injectors changed. Yes they were yellow.

This was in no way to bash polaris either, sled is awesome and my dealer(which is fairly large) said this was there first one in on warranty. The internet is a great tool but sometimes blows things out of proportion and the number of 800 actually having a problem is very very low. So this thing rocks and if your looking to buy one....do it, you wont regret it.

good to hear, mine has caught the bog. just put in new injectors and also found one blown powervalve base gasket and the other leaking. got my fingers crossed that one of them will fix it. will find out saturday... my injectors are yellow.

Been there...done that. On ride 3 this weekend after new injectors. I am running the non-ethanol resistor and I am very happy so far. Will know more after next week. Spending a week between Lava Hot Springs area and Island Park starting on Friday. The machine just doesn't feel like it's stock. I know it would whoop my old D8 with pipe and stuff...easily.

First day out in 2ft plus fresh powder .....was pulling 8100 RPM steady climb.

Now 230 miles 2-3ft of fresh powder pulls 8300 RPM climbing.

BTW it is a 163" with SLP venting.

So what color are the good injectors and what color are the (boggy ones)?

I have a bog only once in awhile. I will have to look at what color my injectors are?

anyone around there sled to see what the build dates are on the sleds that have the bad injectors?

My injectors were yellow, replaced with yellow. Sled build date 9-13-10....engine and injectors are anyones guess.

Bingo! We have a winner. Mine were also yellow. From what I understand they have to be replaced with the exact color removed. I think they make 3 colors, red, blue, and yellow. I could be wrong though.

So what difference does it make on what color they are? Are we guessing that factory yellow injectors were bad?

Same question here about injector color. Mine has ran flawlessly for 600 miles, has a build date of 10-1-10, and has the blue injectors. I also ride at high elevation only (9-11,000k). Watching the threads on here and trying to decipher if there are any correlations between injector color and low elevation for those having issues.

Injectors are flow tested and catagrized 3 ways, low, med, and high and get assinged a color, I beleive yellow is a med. but not sure. ECM is flashed to match the injectors. Sticker on back of ECM will state the injector color.

My injectors were blue, build date 9/20/2010 and they were good until about 600 miles. The blue injectors were out of stock until feb. Dealer got a set of yellow ones and reflashed ecm for the yellow injectors. Will find out tommorrow how she runs.

Anyone have problems with plugs fouling? Mine have been good but saw one the other day that was causing the dude some grief.
