2.25 fingered on 03MC?

yeah for our california heavy cement you wont believe the tracktion youll get, runnin a 144 2 1/4 multi height finger on it and it grabs! Does OK in the pow but not great.

i ran a 2.25 on a 01 mt cat 144 insane traction , loved it but was not to good in the pow .

People don't give finger tracks enough credit in deep powder. They aren't THAT bad. I've been running one for 5 years now here in western Montana. We get some pretty damn deep and dry powder around here.

I thought it be good for spring and fall. Any hits for someone doing a first track replacement?
Thanks
James S.

You dont have to remove the chain case but I do,it seems easier to remove and install the drive shaft that way.If you do remove it take note as to if there are any shims and how many behind each mounting stud for the case.
Stick a long rod through the front susp.holes,or longer bolts after the susp is out. This will keep the track up and make removal and installation of the drive much easier.Remove the torsion spring tails off the spring adj.blocks releiving the pressure on the rear torsion springs. You can collaps the susp now, this makes it much easier to stuff back in and also allign the rear mount holes.
Mount the front of the susp first then the rear.
Ski-doo makes a slick tool that allows you to diconnect that spring tail from the block and is only about $28 P/N 529 005 000 I've used mine a lot.
Your favourite adult beverage helps things along also:beer;:)
Good luck!

I dont remove the chaincase on the cats, just the 3 nuts, bearing retainer and bearing itself which sometimes can be really snug in the case and hard to get out.

As for the torsion spring tool I made one outta some 3/8ths roundstock and a piece of 1/2" by 1" rectangle plate (made into a "T" handle) with just a small notch cut out of the end to go around the torsion spring and just twist and pull, the leverage of the "T" handle makes it a snap. ON the mountain cat skids you can just take off the slider block where the long end of the torsion spring goes through though and its just as easy, but on the short track skids you cant cause the bolt runs across the whole skid and hooks into the suspension arms.
